Coronado Fourth of July is the 501(c)(3) corporation that organizes and funds the Coronado Independence Day festivities, including our renowned Parade, Fireworks and other day of event activities. We are comprised of an all volunteer group.

Introducing our Secretary, Robert Kracht!
• Rob has been helping with the Coronado Fourth of July Parade for twenty years (‼️) and has donated his time to many local organizations, including the Miracle League of San Diego, Coronado Little League, Superseal & Superfrog Triathlons, and Sacred Heart Church.
• He currently serves as President of the Optimist Club of Coronado
• Third generation Coronado native
• Likes include: sports 🏌️‍♂️, history, the outdoors, movie trivia, Nelson IPA 🍺
• Dislikes: Olives, authoritarians, pseudoscience

Robb Huff

Introducing Robb Huff.
Robb Huff, VP Development and Volunteer Coordinator, has been announcing the parade for 28 years! Each year he can be found at the main announcer station, frantically flipping through the cassette tapes that he still uses to deejay the festivities.
An accomplished guitarist, Robb played and sang professionally in Europe for many years before moving to Coronado in 1983 and embarking on a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Robb and his wife Carmen have two Coronado-native children, one of whom is also a parade announcer!

Maggie Hannegan

Maggie Hannegan, who serves as VP, Advertising and Marketing.
 
• She is part of a proud Coronado Navy family. Her grandfathers both retired as Admirals in the Navy, and were part of the birth of Naval Aviation in Coronado, her father retired as a Captain, commanded ships out of San Diego. Her sister, brother, nephew, stepson and cousin also served in the Navy.
 
• She and her siblings attended school in Coronado, and she raised her daughters here.
 
• She is the Chief Development Officer of Clearity, a national nonprofit supporting women and families facing ovarian cancer.
 
• Maggie is the mother of two grown daughters, and grandmother to two fabulous grandchildren, with a third joining her family mid-June 2021!

Parade Chair

Dave Szymanski

Dave Szymanski, our Parade Chairman, has been involved with Coronado’s Fourth of July events for over 32 years!
• Born & raised in Coronado, he’s a second generation native, whose grandfather served in the Navy for 30 years, many of which he was stationed at North Island
• He has never watched the parade along Orange Avenue, even as a kid, because he was always either in the parade or helping behind the scenes
• Dave’s been a public middle school teacher in El Cajon for over 25 years, and has been the vice president of his teacher’s local for 15 years. He’s also involved at the county and state level with the California Teachers Association
• He enjoys playing and watching sports, especially the San Diego Gulls 🏒
• Since he was 18 years old he has donated over 110 gallons of platelets, plasma and blood at the San Diego Blood Bank!
